STIM is a company that for over 30 years has been part of the aquaculture industry's journey to becoming Norway’s most important future-oriented industry. Through our collaboration, we offer complementary services that enhance our overall delivery offering, particularly to the aquaculture market.
Together, we provide a wide range of environmental services based on the expertise of our marine biologists, taxonomists, and ecotoxicologists. This includes, among other things, spatial planning services related to application processes, baseline environmental assessments, B- and C-surveys, recipient assessments, environmental monitoring, mapping of vulnerable species and habitats, and shoreline zone surveys.
STIM is certified according to ISO 14001 for environmental management and accredited under Test 157.
Baseline environmental assessments document the environmental conditions prior to the start of aquaculture operations and include current measurements and seabed mapping. B-surveys monitor the seabed conditions directly under aquaculture facilities, while C-surveys assess the environmental impact in a broader area surrounding the facility.
Recipient assessments map water bodies that receive discharges, and STIM assists with both the planning and execution of such studies.
In the shoreline zone and deeper waters, STIM carries out standardized environmental surveys and habitat mapping to assess, among other things, hard-bottom conditions.
